The State of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) released its All-Conference teams for men's and women's track and field following this past weekend's championship at Geneseo. Junior Matt Wagenhauser and senior Katie Bott both earned First Team for the second-consecutive season.
Wagenhauser was placed on First Team All-SUNYAC for winning the 400-meter dash. Wagenhauser ran a 48.50, his season's best, to earn gold and his third title in the event. Including the indoor season, the junior has now won the last three 400 events at the SUNYAC Championships, dating back to the outdoor crown in 2013.
Bott was also named to the first team for winning gold in the 800-meter run. The senior created a facility record at 2:12.95, nearly three seconds over the second place winner. This is Bott's second SUNYAC title as she earned the title in the 800 at the indoor championship during the winter season. The mid-distance runner was named to the second team at last year's outdoor championship for finishing second in her event with a time of 2:13.58.
Wagenhauser, Bott and the track and field teams will compete at the Oneonta meet this Saturday in preparation for the following weekend's ECAC Championship.
