Suicide Prevention Coalition of Oswego County Launches Community Support Group

Journey to Healing, which will have its first meeting in July over Zoom, is designed as a support group for those affected by loss from suicide.

The group is a space to share, connect, and remember; where stories are honored, pain is understood, and healing is walked gently, together.

"Journey to Healing is a virtual, peer-led support group for people who have lost someone to suicide,” said Kelly Green, one of the group’s two facilitators. “Whether your loss was recent or years ago, this is a space to connect with others who truly understand the complexity of this type of grief, because grief after suicide is different—and often misunderstood. Journey to Healing offers a place to be seen, heard, and supported without judgment or pressure to move on."

Facilitators are currently planning to meet on the first Tuesday of every month from 7-8:30pm EST. Currently, the group is open to adults 18 and over.

To receive the Zoom link or learn more, visit this link (opens Google Docs) to complete a brief contact form. Someone will reach out to you personally with more details.
