
The Oswego State women's swimming and diving team had a strong showing at the Geneseo Invite on Saturday afternoon, racking up 175 team points for a third-place finish out of five times.
Emily Doe achieved 10 points early, taking fifth in the 100-yard backstroke in a time of 1:11.07. Teammate Emily Karszes followed suit with a fifth-place showing herself. The senior tacked on 10 points to the team score with a time of 1:16.69 in the 100-yard breaststroke.
Sabia Filiaci and Natalie Brophy finished the 50-yard freestyle just .16 apart, combining for nine team points with their top 15 finish. Allyson Stewart, Emily Burton and Aran Kilcoyne went back-to-back-to-back in the 9-11 spots of the 100-yard freestyle, adding up to 12 team points.
Burton continued on the point hunt, collecting 11 with a fourth place finish in the 500-yard freestyle, touching the wall at 5:39.07. In the same race, Brophy took the fifth spot, aiding the Laker effort with 10 points.
Allison Cohen grabbed 10 points and seventh place in the 100-yard butterfly, finishing with a time of 1:08.84.
Earning the most points in a single event for Oswego was 22 by the 400-yard free relay of Brophy, Filiaci, Doe and Kaylin Luhrs. They teamed for a time of 3:59.21, taking fifth.
Oswego will return to the pool at the SUNYAC Championships on Thursday, Feb. 19 at Erie Community College in Buffalo.
