The Oswego State volleyball team defeated SUNYIT in straight sets on Wednesday night, Oct. 23, winning 25-22, 27-25 and 25-20.
With the win, the Lakers are now 18-11 on the year which is the most wins by an Oswego team since 2006.
Five different Lakers had more than five kills in the match, with Sabrina Sutton leading the way with nine. Emma Moriarty had eight while Stephanie Bailey and Kelsey Dillon each had six. Kim Cassa rounded out the group with five kills.
Sutton also filled the stat sheet with 12 digs, one aces and a block. She was three digs shy of the team-high which was set with Rachel Ruggaber's 15.
Megan Russell continued to add to her season blocking numbers, collecting four while Dillon contributed three.
Helping out their teammates were Lauren Edwards (22) and Lindsey Champitto (12), who split assisting duties.
Oswego will return to action at 5 p.m. today (Oct. 24) when it plays a neutral site contest against New Paltz in SUNYAC Pool Play hosted by Buffalo State.
