Wyatt Russo of the men's lacrosse team has been named Goalie of the Week for the week ending March 30, 2014.
The Massapequa Park native earned this honor after his performance between the pipes against Utica College on Friday. Russo stopped 16 attempts from the Pioneers, finishing the day with a .667 save percentage.
The Lakers moved past the Pioneers with a 15-8 victory on Friday afternoon at the Laker Soccer Field. The freshman was a key player in the win, allowing just eight goals including keeping Utica off the scoreboard for the entirety of the third quarter.
In his young career, the freshman has played in six games with 58 saves for a .630 save percentage. Russo currently holds a 4-1 record on the season.
Oswego will be back in action at 4 p.m. on Tuesday when Clarkson University comes to the South Athletic Field.
