Hayden Ward (Sr. Montauk, N.Y.) tied his career-high with 25 points and grabbed 15 rebounds, but it was not enough as the Oswego State men's basketball team (3-1, 0-1 SUNYAC) lost its first conference game of the season to Plattsburgh (4-1, 1-0 SUNYAC). It was the first conference loss for the Lakers since the 2010-11 season, having won 32 straight.
Senior Meagan Stover (Lake George, N.Y.) posted career highs in points and rebounds to help the Oswego State women's basketball team (4-0, 1-0 SUNYAC) remain perfect on the season following with a 56-48 win over Plattsburgh (2-2, 0-1) Friday night at Max Ziel Gymansium. Stover poured in 25 points and 12 rebounds to go along with three steals in the victory.
Four Oswego State wrestlers registered second-place finishes at the RIT Invitational to help the Lakers place third out of 11 teams with 122 points. Omar Santiago, Michael Gentilcore, Andrew Cole, and Kyle Sheridan each posted runner-up results, as Wesleyan won the team title with 152 points.
Hayden Ward (Sr., Montauk, N.Y.) led the Oswego State men's basketball team (3-0) in scoring with 24 points, as the Lakers grabbed the lead early in the second half in an 80-70 win over host Cobleskill (1-5) on Tuesday night. The win was the 100th in the career of head coach Jason Leone, who moved to Oswego State from Keystone last season.
Emma Smentaniuk (Jr., Frankfort, Ontario) scored the lone goal for the Oswego State women's ice hockey team (4-4-1), which lost to non-conference Hamilton (3-1-0), 3-1, on Tuesday night.
Oswego State sophomore goaltender Bridget Smith (Hamburg, N.Y.) has been named the ECAC Women's West Goaltender of the Week for the week ending November 19, 2012 for the second time this season.
